RTBU notifies of industrial action as intensive bargaining period approaches its conclusion
Today we entered our fourth week of intensive bargaining and continued to receive responses to our claims. We hope to provide members with a comprehensive list of the status of all claims at the conclusion of bargaining this week.
Although the intensive bargaining period has produced some good outcomes for members with many claims agreed to, we remain frustrated by slow progress and a lack of genuine engagement on key items.
Amongst those items are:
- Pay increases
- Annual leave loading rate
- Superannuation to be paid on parental leave and workers compensation
- Overtime paid on the day for Section 4
- Payroll being brought back in-house
- Removing the cap (currently 64 weeks) on redundancies
- RETRU increase to 5 weeks annual leave
- Meal allowances for each 4 hours out of depot for Infrastructure Workers
- Increase ULCP by one increment for Track and Civil disciplines
- Adverse weather allowance for section 3
- Gold pass after 20 years service
- Site rates paid for all contractors
- Training levy to improve training outcomes for members
- Guidelines for CCTV use
Your EA delegates have now met and decided to launch a new round of industrial actions designed to begin building long term pressure on management and the Government in pursuit of the above claims and others that are yet to be resolved.
The industrial actions below all commence on 30 October 2024 at 0001hrs. They have been designed to ensure that all members are taking some form of action as we know that collectively, we are all stronger when we take action together.
Remember, you have absolute protection against any adverse action because you are taking industrial action. We will take immediate action against any manager who oversteps.
As we all know, our collective efforts will achieve the outcomes we all deserve.
