Fair Work Commission today with Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains and NSW Trains

Today your EA delegates attended the Fair Work Commission to participate in conciliation ordered by the Full Bench last week.

The day was spent working through and informing the Commission what each of the parties understand was agreed to on 13 February 2025 immediately before the issue about our $4500 payment arose and scuttled negotiations.

The discussions today were productive and many newly raised issues concerning previously agreed conditions by management seemed to either fall away or were agreed to be revisited and reconsidered. The Commission was thorough and applied a detailed eye to our bargain. And positively, the employers have agreed to finally begin drafting the new enterprise agreement!

We’re also aware that an email from Sydney Trains to the Independent Bargaining representatives (IBR) and the ETU regarding a wage position has been circulating. This email was the Government’s position on wages and associated conditions, not the Combined Rail Unions.

We will always provide Union positions on wages or conditions to members ourself. You will never have to rely on IBRs or the rumour mill to get information. As always, if in doubt, contact your EA delegates for accurate information.
