Application filed for a Multi-Enterprise Agreement

Dear Members,

This afternoon we made an application to the Fair Work Commission for a “Single Interest Employer Authorisation”. This has been a longstanding campaign by our union and a Multi-Enterprise Agreement will provide us with vitally important protection against privatisation by this government and future governments.

The multi enterprise agreement we are seeking is expressed to cover:

• The Unions in the CRU
• Sydney Trains
• NSW Trains
• Light Rail

As a proud industry union, we derive our strength from standing together across the entire industry, and this application puts us one step closer to being able to truly exercise that power.

Members voted overwhelmingly to bargain for a Multi-Enterprise Agreement, and it is disappointing that the employers did not come to the party. Now we have to try and force them to do so through the Fair Work Commission with our petition which has over 6500 names on it.

Remember, we are stronger together and today we take the first step toward turning our union into a true industry union ready to take up any fight that comes our way.
