24 hour trains this weekend – shutdown averted
This afternoon the Government caved and agreed to provide 24 hour trains this weekend averting the disastrous shut down that the media have been playing up all week. This last minute call may seem unnecessary but it shows the significant pressure that our action put in the Government and the leverage that results. Off the back of this move by the NSW Government, we move into the final phase of this bargaining round and we believe that the bargain will be done before Xmas.
This means all members will work as normal tomorrow.
It has been a tough week for all members, with immeasurable public pressure being placed on each and every one of us. We know that when we cause disruption, the public takes it out on us on the frontlines. However, when we stay strong, we can achieve great things.
This is by no means the end, but it is now well and truly within sight.
Further details about today will follow on the process moving forward for the next two weeks.
